Phase number.....
I am always surprised when a mistake is no longer a mistake simply because I did the most basic thing right and the surprise is because I do believe that I ain't stupid :D.
This post is after more than a couples of years........Wonder when will the next one be!
A song stuck in my head from a few days....
Tan tan taan taan taan
Tan tan taan taan taan
Tan tan taan taan taan
Taan ta taan ta tadada......Chikni ......
You know the rest. Oh yes, I loved Sonakshi sinha's looks in Rowdy Rathore......now if you don't like the movie..........Don't angry me!

Give me some sunshine, give me some rain
Ek pal to ab humein...jeene do..jeene do.
Bachpan ..to gaya.....Jawaani bhi gayi......Ek pal to ab humain.....jeene do ....jeene doooooooooooo!
Give me some sunshine, give me some rain
Give me another chance ...I wanna grow up once again!!
Just like me, there will easily be thousands of other people who would have got goose bumps listening to this song in the background in 3 idiots the very first time! Did I not say I wish? OF COURSE I wish!!
I am always astounded by the ways you can describe things...ways - words. It is just so great if you have a great vocabulary in life, you have almost no limit to describing any single emotion in so many thousands of ways..........each resulting in a slightly different reaction.

The Little Master

The day you see a batsman see the ball TILL it passes by him at the speed of a bowler of bret lee's pace....you have found someone who can match our own Little Master! Till then, make yourself happy by comparing all the so called 'greats' of the game!
To see the ball till it is beside your face, and steer it above the keeper and slips', needs years of sheer concentration, practice and above all skill to accomplish it!
All hail Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar!!!!

So here we four friends were....
It all started the day before yesterday. Things were looking the nothing new, normal theory based talks between the protagonist and his parents. Let's call him S Bannur or SB. After his parents explained to him that 'beta, tera number aagaya', he said 'Yea, whatever..fine'. So SB's parents asked me and a couple of other common friends to accompany him as he's not the 'YO! SSUP DOOOD!' kinds. Not that any of us are...but birds of the same feather kinds. So I said fine, will go with him. SB's mom asked her beloved son...'Will you actually talk to the girl beta?', to which his daddy dearest replied 'Yea yea..For all you know, he will keep his mouth shut and just eat whatever he gets and will be back!' harharhar! Come to think of it..... ;)
Arrival. The person who was arranging the alliance was in a hurry. So once we barely parked our arses on the sofa, all four of us...he comes up with 'Call the bride'. When he uttered the line, I could only think of 'D-uh!'!. So the bride took her time to get ready, while her father said 'It's sunday you see, so ppl get up late etc..' He told it SO many times we started wondering if he thought we don't know it's a sunday! Finally the one arrived and got tumblers with something. We all thought 'Nice, some kinda juice. Goodie!' It was water. Time passed.... The TV was on, cricket. Barely any volume given. All four of us being cricket lovers, we stared at it. Time just didn't pass...the bowler seemed to take forever to get back to his run up and bowl the next delivery! We couldn't even stare at each other as we didn't have too much space. So more or less very uncomfortable. Bride comes again...this time with a couple of good day biscuits and 'chow-chow' / mixture ...It was like a classroom, albeit a VERY well disciplined one. Pin drop silence..broken only by the crunching and munching of the eatables given. Nobody seemed to see the awkwardness....happy watching tv with mouth full. None of us even looked at the prospective bride! Grin! Only a couple of conversation between one of the elder brothers of the girl and our man.
Fifteen minutes up...status quo. I was irritated....controlling my irritation......started counting one to ten..Did it a few times. Something in my mind just 'clicked'. I said 'SB here is more of a reserved person. So please ask your daughter if she's okay while we will get SB's opinion on the same'. I could see everybody staring at me! Then out of the blue, the dad who hardly spoke, said 'putta, come here'. The bride to-be finally came out of the kitchen and sat in the hall. Small talk continued, with the girl's dad talking about how IT has helped many a lakh of ppl especially in bangalore to get a job, to which I nodded and said it also made the value of land become illogical, to which he nodded and went on a nostalgia trip saying at first when he joined the government sector company where he worked, his salary was Rs.90/-, to which I said the water bill we get today is more than that! Finally, he asked if we wanted to talk to the girl or rather if the guy wanted to. The alliance arranger (hey, this sounds like a a new nice term! :) ) said 'No sir, nothing. We will get going now'. We all just nodded, got out.
The protagonist said 'Yes' and now the next round of bout will start very soon.

dreams.......part two
CUT!
Scene 2 : My younger bro walks in with his girlfriend. (This happens between the time that I realize the snake has bitten my bro and I take my bike out). They see what's happening around, and just go and both start reading some books.
CUT!
Scene 3 : I am going to go out the front door and take my bike out. Snake at my feet. Hisssssssssssssssss! I say something which in snake language meant 'Bite me!'. (ROFL!) So the snake did just that. He bit me and how! This one was a very tiny one though. After a few seconds, the snake just vanishes.......into my feet! Almost a minute passes, and I can feel a bump in my left buttocks.
CUT!
I woke up and started rubbing my left buttocks!

Not sure I understand........
Come on hold my hand,
I wanna contact the living.
Not sure I understand,
This role I’ve been given.
I sit and talk to god
And he just laughs at my plans,
My head speaks a language, I don’t understand.
(chorus)
I just wanna feel real love,
Feel the home that I live in.
’cause I got too much life,
Running through my veins, going to waste.
I don’t wanna die,
But I ain’t keen on living either.
Before I fall in love,
I’m preparing to leave her.
I scare myself to death,
That’s why I keep on running.
Before I’ve arrived, I can see myself coming.
(chorus)
I just wanna feel real love,
Feel the home that I live in.
’cause I got too much life,
Running through my veins, going to waste.
And I need to feel, real love
And a life ever after.
I cannot get enough.
(instrumental)
(chorus)
I just wanna feel real love,
Feel the home that I live in,
I got too much love,
Running through my veins, going to waste.
I just wanna feel real love,
In a life ever after
There’s a hole in my soul,
You can see it in my face, it’s a real big place.
(instrumental)
Come and hold my hand,
I wanna contact the living,
Not sure I understand,
This role I’ve been given
Not sure I understand.
Not sure I understand.
Not sure I understand.
Not sure I understand........................
Talk about going overboard with something! Harharharhar!
Rest aside, bought mom what she needed for home as a b'day present to her and bought the complete Calvin n Hobbes leather binded edition of three books as a b'day present for my best budd........yet to part ways with CnH ! :D

What do you think?
Thoughts...........
If the page fails to open, here it is :
TORONTO: I agree with this article about the India-China comparison. What really annoys me is that we in India have 10 MBAs/managers/business persons for one person that does the real work. (The ratio is supposed to be opposite.) How many people go into research as opposed to becoming paper pushers?
We are capable of having our own software companies that could design software and call it their own product. Instead, we have consulting services like TCS, Infosys, and Wipro that do work for others. What we do is similar to running a cheap roadside garage rather than designing and manufacturing a car.
This attitude extends everywhere. We have four sports officials for every athlete (I am not talking about cricket.) besides the fact that we won't win a single medal in the Olympics for next 5 Olympics in track and field. On the other hand, China is tipped to overtake US in medals tally in the upcoming Beijing Olympics. In the mean time we can spend time gloating about our "glorious 5000 year old culture and civilization" which by the way no longer exists. May be I should put a few more zeros after 5000 and new airports and roads will start popping up automatically.
Honda did not gain its reputation over night. They made substandard cars for many years. But they were independent, with their own design and research. It is all about self respect and less about business. We on the other hand are so business and money minded that we won't go that extra effort to do it on our own. We don't mind spending billions of dollars buying up foreign companies and not spend anything to fix up the broken infrastructure at home. We don't mind our graduates taking up dead end jobs in call centres.
In fact we feel proud about it instead of feeling ashamed. We feel proud about our generic drug manufacturing capability which really is copying existing drugs that some one else designed (In Mumbai lingo, it is called Ulhasnagar goods.) and we are proud of it.
As for the infrastructure, we don't have any. We complain about high fuel prices but then we see our vehicles move at an average speed of 2km/hr on our city streets. This is after 10-12 years of liberalization. If it can't be done in 10 years it means we are not capable of doing it. There are no excuses for crippled infrastructure after 10 years of "liberalization".
Even the Soviet countries had a better infrastructure after the collapse of Soviet Union. When I read the economic supplements of the news papers, I feel like I am living in the most advanced country in the world. I only need to walk out of my home on the pot holed streets with no sewage on the road, people defecating and urinating in public, no traffic lights, to see the harsh reality.
We have power cuts in most our major cities. We have new aircrafts flying on domestic routes but no new airports, no new runways, no new air traffic control, no new maintenance facilities, no new schools to train new ground engineers and pilots. All the new airline businesses are busy making money while these things go unaddressed.
As for the environment in India, it is disaster of vast proportions unfolding as we speak. We need to use small inefficient air conditioning units because our middle class house holds want to keep their cool with the extra spend able income, without thinking about the cheap gases that go into those units that damage the environment.
We are learning how to make petrol driven vehicles when the rest of world is looking for alternative fuels and technology to replace the fossil fuel driven machines. Mumbai today is amongst the top 10 most expensive cities to run business in. Where does it feature in the list of cities by infrastructure? We can start looking from bottom up.
But then again, India is a land of contrasts. We have the coldest glaciers and the hottest deserts and I am proud of it. Unfortunately that contrast also applies to wealth, business, economy and certain other things which I am not proud of and no one in the right state of mind should be.

Love
We both lie silently still
In the dead of the night
Although we both lie close together
We feel miles apart inside
Was it something I said or something I did
Did my words not come out right
Though I tried not to hurt you
Though I tried
But I guess thats why they say
Chorus:
Every rose has its thorn
Just like every night has its dawn
Just like every cowboy sings his sad, sad song
Every rose has its thorn
Yeah it does
I listen to our favorite song
Playing on the radio
Hear the dj say loves a game of easy come and
Easy go
But I wonder does he know
Has he ever felt like this
And I know that you'd be here right now
If I could have let you know somehow
I guess
Chorus
Though its been a while now
I can still feel so much pain
Like a knife that cuts you the wound heals
But the scar, that scar remains
Solo
I know I could have saved a love that night
If Id known what to say
Instead of makin love
We both made our separate ways
But now I hear you found somebody new
And that I never meant that much to you
To hear that tears me up inside
And to see you cuts me like a knife
I guess
What is love? - The eternal journey you can indulge into if you are the kind or ....... if you are SO bored in life!
Sometimes, I think............ when two people understand each other, know each other to a very large extent and can bear each other, it may turn into love. Cliche, you say? Let me try to dive inside a li'l now.........
a) Understand = Know like and dislikes.
b) Know each other = Know each other's goal(s) in life, career or otherwise.
c) Bear each other = This is a li'l tricky. You don't have to have common interests to fall in love. Sometimes common interest(s) attracts people. Sometimes, contrasting characters attract, aka opposite poles.
The real question is this : Is love just all of the above? Is there more which CAN be put into words? I wonder............

Turn turn turn...........
There is a season (turn, turn, turn)
And a time for every purpose, under heaven
A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep
To everything (turn, turn, turn)
There is a season (turn, turn, turn)
And a time for every purpose, under heaven
A time to build up,a time to break down
A time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones, a time to gather stones together
To everything (turn, turn, turn)
There is a season (turn, turn, turn)
And a time for every purpose, under heaven
A time of love, a time of hate
A time of war, a time of peace
A time you may embrace, a time to refrain from embracing
To everything (turn, turn, turn)
There is a season (turn, turn, turn)
And a time for every purpose, under heaven
A time to gain, a time to lose
A time to rend, a time to sew
A time to love, a time to hate
A time for peace, I swear its not too late
A friend of mine had the below adviced by his doc :
1. Reduce smoking.
2. Stop drinking coffee AND tea.
3. Don't strain your body.
4. Don't exercise too much.
What do ya have to say to this now?

Please stand up........
She was abandoned near a garbage dump in Ghaziabad, where 22-year-old Kalpna found her struggling for life. And Kalpna instantly decided to adopt the child.
"I am unmarried so my brother and sister-in-law will give her their name," says Kalpna.
Kalpna might not be the legal parent, but that doesnt bother her for she has the full support of her family.
Says her mother, Rameshwari Pathak, "People are talking, they like to rake up issues, but inspite of everything, we have decided to keep the baby."
For Kalpna, who is a final year student, this has been a life-altering experience.
"Earlier I used to behave like the kid of the house. Now I spend all my time with the baby," says she.
Kalpna is the only girl in a family of four brothers and right now Shradha is more a female companion than a daughter, but she is confident that she will never regret her decision.
"People's support is a great source of strength for me," says she.
Shradha might be a bundle of joy but she's also a huge responsibility. Registration of birth, legalities of a formal adoption all have to be taken care of, but despite everything, she is a happy responsibility for the Pathak family.

Downtown.....
A background of a tall building............birds flying off from the building.........music includes flute with a mellow tune....can make you feel a range of emotions. All that needs is a change in the pitch of the instrument which is prominent in the background music.
The film was nothing out of the ordinary as far as the theme goes. There's this plump kid in this art class. Enter : A new girl with long kaale ghane baal! The prankster is in bench one. Our hero is in the last , sulking. But attraction at first sight (not love, the movie is about kids) so every guy in the class is looking. The prankster asks fatso to close his mouth. The rest of the movie is well scripted with not so boring incidents and their narration was kickass.
Latest number am tripping on :
When you're alone and life is making you lonely
You can always go - downtown
When you've got worries, all the noise and the hurry
Seems to help, I know - downtown
Just listen to the music of the traffic in the city
Linger on the sidewalk where the neon signs are pretty
How can you lose?
The lights are much brighter there
You can forget all your troubles, forget all your cares
So go downtown, things'll be great when you're
Downtown - no finer place, for sure
Downtown - everything's waiting for you
Don't hang around and let your problems surround you
There are movie shows - downtown
Maybe you know some little places to go to
Where they never close - downtown
Just listen to the rhythm of a gentle bossa nova
You'll be dancing with him too before the night is over
Happy again
The lights are much brighter there
You can forget all your troubles, forget all your cares
So go downtown, where all the lights are bright
Downtown - waiting for you tonight
Downtown - you're gonna be all right now
[Instrumental break]
And you may find somebody kind to help and understand you
Someone who is just like you and needs a gentle hand to
Guide them along
So maybe I'll see you there
We can forget all our troubles, forget all our cares
So go downtown, things'll be great when you're
Downtown - don't wait a minute for
Downtown - everything's waiting for you
Downtown, downtown, downtown, downtown ...
Emma bunton - Downtown
